Technical newsletters about emerging issues & our latest research

We are pleased to have been recently appointed by Lumiere Developments to carry out one of the first Home Quality Mark assessments in the country on this exemplar scheme.

The Beacon is designed and engineered to be ‘The World’s Most Sustainable Residential Tower’. Located in Hemel Hempstead, the building will be aiming to achieve the highest possible HQM rating for their customers. The exemplar building promises to incorporate some of the best examples of innovative design and technology, including a variety of renewable technologies, an automated car parking system and greywater recycling. Our vast experience and knowledge of BREEAM and the outgoing Code for Sustainable Homes makes us best placed to provide high-value support and advice on this project.

The Home Quality Mark (HQM) is the BRE’s national standard for new homes which uses a 5-star rating system to demonstrate a home’s comparative running costs, environmental footprint and quality of living and amenity space. Based on years of building research and experience, the new technical standard will enable customers to recognise homes that are of exceptional quality with a high overall performance.
