The next 20 years ...

Time never stands still and our consultancy constantly looks to the future to ensure we are aware of future technologies and associated social issues that affect homes and their communities. We do not make predictions, but look at the outcomes that can influence the decisions for the future. Our intention is to stimulate action today to allow capitalism of research and emerging technologies.

Our report 'Foresight for Housing' looks at housing over a 20-year timescale. The report identifies that:

• There will be increased emphasis on the quality and performance of both new and existing housing
• Homes need to be able to adapt to changing lifestyle requirements
• Increasing densities mean community development will be a dominant issue
• New information and communication technologies will add convenience, work opportunities, life long learning and improved security
