Richard is an experienced acoustic consultant and qualified environmental health professional with a specific interest and expertise in environmental noise and vibration.
Richard’s previous experience includes noise and vibration specialist consultancy on the Crossrail project and work on large infrastructure schemes. He joined the Hodkinson team in July 2016 and his key skills include project management, assessments to support planning and EIA, statutory nuisance, expert witness and the monitoring and management of noise and vibration on construction sites.
His current work involves undertaking acoustic assessments to support planning and EIA on a wide range of environmental projects including major transport schemes, industrial, commercial and residential developments.
Richard is a full member of both the Institute of Acoustics and Chartered Institute of Environmental Health. He has sat on several acoustic and environmental working groups including CIEH Sussex Pollution Working Group, Advisory working group for the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea’s ‘Code of Construction Practice’ guidance document and Acoustic specialist on Licensing Action Group (LAG) (Wealden District Council). He has also authored guidance documents such as ‘Planning Noise Advice Document: Sussex’, ‘Section 61 Guidance Note’ (Wealden District Council) and ‘Guidance on Noise Control from Licensed Premises’ (Wealden District Council)
