Our track record equips us to respond to challenging situations

Having been in military use for hundreds of years up to 1967, the Royal Arsenal site in Woolwich was largely derelict by the time Berkeley Homes was selected to develop the site into a 3,700 home mixed-use scheme.

The site is extremely complex and poses a number of unique challenges unusual in residential developments. A particular achievement has been integrating one of the biggest concentrations of listed buildings converted into residential use, with new build elements, and ensuring that all meet high environmental standards.

Our specialist advice and EcoHomes assessments have assisted Berkeley to design high quality refurbished homes that meet high environmental standards in a manner sympathetic to the Listed nature of the buildings and the heritage aspects of the site.

Our work on this project has also included: Energy & Sustainability Statements for planning applications; community heating and ESCO advice; and Code for Sustainable Homes, BREEAM, SBEM & SAP assessments.
