How hot or cold people feel in a building can significantly affect their wellbeing in a number of ways – yet as the climate continues to warm, providing thermally-comfortable buildings is becoming more challenging. BREEAM issue Hea 04 Thermal Comfort has been developed to make sure that buildings are designed in a way that allows for appropriate thermal comfort levels, and that controls are selected to make it as easy as possible for the people who live in the building to maintain those levels.

Our highly-experienced environmental modellers will work with you to design a building that is not only high-quality, but that also minimises energy demands while providing a thermally-comfortable environment for the people living or working inside. Where possible we prioritise passive design measures, such as natural ventilation and optimised shading strategies that control solar gains and maximise daylight in line with BREEAM Hea 01.
