Housing quality assessments

The Housing Quality Indicator (HQI) system is a measurement and assessment tool designed to allow housing schemes to be evaluated not only on cost, but on quality too. They incorporate the design standards required of affordable housing providers receiving funding through the National Affordable Housing Programme (NAHP) and Affordable Homes Programme (AHP).

The HQI assesses the quality of a housing project using three main categories: location, design and performance, these 3 categories produce 10 ‘Quality Indicators’ that make up the HQI system.

RHC offers advice on the HQI processes and standards, which include elements of Code for Sustainable Homes and Lifetime Homes.
