We have recently achieved design stage ‘Excellent’ certification for the non-residential elements of the mixed use Keybridge House development, under the new BREEAM New Construction 2014 scheme. We are pleased to have been able to work with Mount Anvil to deliver certification for this project.
Due to our early appointment, the project has been certified well in advance of start on site. In addition, some of the commercial units have achieved a BREEAM Excellent rating, which exceeds the requirement for Very Good as stipulated within the planning condition.
Keybridge House is located within the Vauxhall Nine Elms, Battersea (VNEB) Opportunity Area. The proposed residential-led development includes offices, retail units and industrial areas. Multiple assessments were required, however we were able to maximise efficiency by collating site wide information to be used across all five assessments, to ensure an efficient assessment process.
We were also appointed as BREEAM Accredited Professional (AP), enabling us to provide additional environmental consultancy. As BREEAM AP, we attended key design team meetings throughout the design stage to monitor progress against the BREEAM performance target. We have also been asked to assume this role throughout the construction stage, producing a report on the BREEAM progress at the end of each RIBA Stage. This additional work has allowed all of the BREEAM Sustainability Champion credits to be awarded.
We are very much looking forward to continuing our working relationship with Mount Anvil on the full delivery of the scheme.
