Our track record equips us to respond to challenging situations

Riverlight will soon be a unique riverfront development comprising residential and non-residential units in the heart of the Nine Elms regeneration project.

Designed by Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners, this project consists of 6 pavillions of varying heights. The development includes 811 apartments, retail uses, offices, food and drink uses, a crèche, a healthcare centre, and art gallery – as well as a resident’s lounge and leisure facilities. A large percentage of the scheme will be dedicated public open space including landscaped gardens and a riverside walkway.

During the planning stages, we helped St James achieve planning consent by developing energy and sustainability strategies to comply with London Plan policies and exceed Building Regulations CO2 reduction targets by at least 25%. The detailed energy strategy included the provision of Ground Source Heat Pumps to satisfy 80% of the development’s heating demand and CHP engines in the energy centre to provide hot water.

We continue to work on the project with St James to ensure all residential dwellings achieve a Code for Sustainable Homes Level 3 rating and all non-residential units achieve a BREEAM ‘Very Good’ rating. This has included the provision of energy efficient lighting throughout, reduced water consumption, an efficient waste strategy and a considerable improvement to the site’s ecological value.
