We are very pleased that Berkeley Homes’ Lombard Square development in Greenwich has been nominated for the edie 2025 Heat Decarbonisation Project of the Year Award. It is the only new residential development shortlisted in this category.
Lombard Square revitalises 17 acres of derelict and inaccessible brownfield land into a place for a new community to grow and thrive, delivering 1,913 new homes, 40% of which are affordable, 48,000 sqft of industrial, community and commercial and a new public park. After receiving planning permission in 2021, the development’s heat network was redesigned to become one of the largest residential zero-carbon developments in the UK serviced by an Open Loop Ground Source Heat Pump system.
