Hodkinson Consultancy now have two qualified Passive House Consultants in-house. Jonathan Peck and Rodrigo Guedes recently passed their Passive House exam following a comprehensive three-week training course with Mosart. Passive House assessment using Passive House Planning Package (PHPP) software has thus been added to the wide portfolio of energy services the company can provide.
An increasing number of developers are considering the merits of engaging a Passive House consultant as part of their design team, with certification widely recognised as the gold standard in energy efficient design. Irrespective of certification, the application of Passive House principles and construction methods can significantly improve the performance of buildings and the occupant experience of using them. This is because the assessment process is considerably more thorough than the conventional Part L SAP process, with targets that push energy efficiency design and construction much further.
