Jacob joined Hodkinson Consultancy in 2024 as a Graduate Energy Consultant, following the completion of his Master’s degree in Sustainable Energy and Environment at Cardiff University. His core interest is in delivering sustainable design principles that simultaneously enhance the energy performance and wellbeing of occupants across complex developments.

He works across planning, design, and construction stages, providing technical input that supports practical, low‑carbon design decisions. As an accredited energy assessor, Jacob focuses on optimising the energy efficiency and fabric performance of domestic and non‑domestic developments while ensuring compliance with building regulations and regional planning policies. He also evaluates emerging technologies using an evidence‑based approach, assessing their commercial and environmental suitability on a project‑specific basis.

As an Associate Member of the Energy Institute, Jacob is dedicated to professional growth and aspires to achieve chartered status, further strengthening his contribution to sustainable energy solutions in the built environment.
